Renovations Part 1: Outdoor Lighting

I haven’t talked much about it yet, but we’re in the process of a big renovation over here! A few fun facts about our house… when we first saw it we had zero interest in it. We loved the lot but the house had a few quirky things that we weren’t sure would fit our family. It was actually built for an older couple who halfway through the build decided they didn’t want to move so they finished it quickly and put it on the market where it sat for over two years. After we saw it and passed it up we looked in the same area for another year and there was just nothing that felt right.

I remember one night we were looking on Realtor.com and saw that this house had gone under contract. My heart sunk. While we weren’t in love with the house we were completely in love with the lot. I just didn’t realize how much until it wasn’t available any longer. Thankfully, the contract on the house fell through and we grabbed it up, knowing that we would need to renovate at some point to meet the needs of our family. Well after 10 years we are finally doing it and I can’t wait to bring you all along on the journey!

Construction is well underway and lots of decisions have been made! I’ll be sharing some mood boards for anyone else who is in the process of renovating/building/updating their homes and hopefully you’ll find that helpful! One of the things I’m most excited about is lighting up our exterior. When it came time to choose outdoor lights for around our walkways and patios, I knew I wanted the Vont LED Outdoor Solar Lights. If you follow along in the Facebook Group, you know we are in LOVE with the Vont camping lanterns so when I saw that they made outdoor solar lights we of course had to test them out! They are just as good as we anticipated! Nice and durable, super bright with two brightness levels, and they’re a fantastic price point for a set of two. If you’re looking to light up a patio, pool, porch, etc. I definitely recommend these! They also blend in perfectly with the other lighting we chose for the exterior!

  1. Walkways/patios/trees
  2. Front Door (one on either side)
  3. Above Front Door
  4. Garages (also doing these for the back doors in one size smaller)

I’d love to hear which mood board you’d like to see next… indoor lighting? Kitchen? Main Bathroom? Living Room? Let me know! Can’t wait to take you along on this journey with us!
